Trans & Gender Diverse Support Groups
Our Trans & Gender Diverse Support Groups are supportive spaces open to all adults who identify as transgender, gender diverse, gender expansive, or non-binary (TGD).
These groups aim to create a safe, supportive space for TGD-identified folx to connect with one another and navigate the unique challenges of our community.
Each group explores topics surrounding identity, intersectionality, relationship building, and daily stressors. Members have various goals, but share a commitment to their own and each other's growth.

Lee graduated from Brooklyn College with a masters degree in Mental Health Counseling. In their work Lee utilizes a hodge-podge of modalities and tools, drawing from cognitive behavioral therapy, internal family systems, mindfulness, and yoga. Inspired by their own yoga practice Lee takes a holistic approach, striving to integrate the body into talk therapy. They find exploration of somatic experiences to be a doorway into understanding how emotions are stored in, and processed through, the body, mind, and spirit. In their sessions Lee endeavors to create a trauma informed collaborative environment of mutual trust and safety. They follow the lead of the client, believing that the client is the expert of their own experience.

How can this group help me?
Joining our group can help give you a sense of community, support, and care that you may lack in your regular day to day life.
Trans and Gender Diverse folx face greater mental health struggles, statistically, than their cisgender counterparts. 81% of transgender adults in the U.S. have thought about suicide, 42% of transgender adults have attempted it, and 56% have engaged in non-suicidal self-injury over their lifetimes. In addition to suicidality, trans folks face myriad roadblocks to accessing affirmative care.
Joining our group can be life affirming and life saving for trans folks seeking support for navigating discrimination, stigma, dysphoria, and other mental health struggles.
