Mathew Lasky
Advanced Clinical Intern
He/Him
Mathew Lasky is an advanced clinical intern currently pursuing his Master’s in Social Work at Hunter College in New York City. With a deep commitment to fostering empathetic and authentic therapeutic relationships, Mathew is passionate about creating a safe and affirming space where clients feel seen, heard, and supported.
Before entering the field of clinical social work, Mathew has spent over a decade working directly with the LGBTQ+ community, including serving as Director of Communications at GLAAD. This experience continues to inform his clinical practice, particularly his attunement to issues of identity, community, and marginalization.
Mathew brings a warm, grounded presence to his work and is particularly interested in psychoanalysis and the ways our early experiences shape who we are and how we relate to others. He believes in the power of therapy to help individuals understand themselves more fully and to cultivate meaningful change from within.
