Staff Therapist

He/Him

Therapy with Imani is a warm, thoughtful journey grounded in relationship. In this supportive space, clients explore their inner worlds and personal histories to understand how past experiences shape current patterns. Drawing from psychodynamic principles, Imani emphasizes how healing happens through connection—with ourselves and with others. His natural blend of empathy, curiosity, and thoughtful humor makes the therapeutic process both meaningful and approachable.

In therapy with Imani, clients find a space where they can safely examine the deeper roots of their challenges while developing more satisfying and authentic ways of relating to themselves and others. He meets clients where they are, honoring their unique experiences and perspectives every step of the way.

Imani has worked with individuals navigating anxiety, depression, identity exploration (including LGBTQIA+ and gender identity), racial identity and lived experience, grief and loss, perfectionism, and relationship issues—including polyamory and consensual non-monogamy. His practice is culturally responsive, LGBTQIA+ affirming, and grounded by the impact of social structures and power dynamics on lived experience.

Imani earned his Master's in Social Work from the Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College and his Bachelor's in French Language and Literature from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. His work is enriched by a deep commitment to ongoing learning, reflection, and personal growth.
