Staff Therapist

She/Her

Emily views therapy as a collaborative effort, where the client and the therapist work together in a safe, supportive and honest environment to find what hurts, ask the right questions, and facilitate the client's journey towards self-discovery and understanding. She works with a diverse population of individuals, couples, and folx in various relationship types who are facing anxiety, depression, substance use, gender identity and LGBTQ+ concerns, complex trauma, loss/grief, relationship difficulties, and self-esteem problems.

Emily practices with a trauma-informed, multicultural, feminist, intersectional, and person-centered perspective. She utilizes Psychodynamic Theory, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness and Somatic Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Harm Reduction modalities. Emily regards therapy as a unique experience for each client and does not take a one size fits all approach, but gages each therapeutic relationship on a circumstantial basis.

Emily completed her advanced clinical internship at IHI, and has previously worked with several LGBTQ+ organizations, as well as volunteered with crisis intervention organizations. She completed her Masters in Social Work with a focus on Mental Health and Clinical Social Work. She has a previous Masters in Fine Art and believes that art, writing, music, and dance are forms of healing therapy and integrates them into her work if appropriate for the client.
