Staff Therapist

He/Him

Nathan is a compassionate and highly skilled social worker who brings a unique blend of clinical training, artistic expression and a teamwork-oriented attitude to the field of mental health.  Coming from a performing arts background, Nathan offers a refreshing and engaging approach to therapeutic work including exploration of new perspectives, uncovering powerful insights and the transformative power of both laughter and tears.  His lighthearted therapeutic style empowers clients to explore, process and transform in an environment that fosters holistic self-discovery, resilience and authenticity.

As a queer-friendly therapist, Nathan is aware of the unique challenges and joys presented to the LGBTQ+ community on the individual, interpersonal and societal level.  He uses a social justice perspective to inform his work, including respect and acknowledgement for the many ways our intersectionality influences how we interact with the world around us - and vise versa.  Nathan is committed to creating an inclusive environment where individuals of all identities and cultural backgrounds feel validated, supported and trusted as the experts of their own histories, experiences and problem-solving solutions.  Nathan positions himself as a collaborator rather than an instructor, helping his clients build upon the helpful tools already in use while integrating new skills to minimize symptoms of mental health concerns such as anxiety, depression and trauma.  Nathan uses an evidence-based harm reduction approach when working to minimize or eliminate negative outcomes associated with substance use and/or addiction.  He also pulls from psychodynamic, narrative, creative arts, family systems and cognitive-behavior therapies.

With his personable demeanor, genuine empathy and clinical expertise, Nathan offers himself as a personable and helpful resource for individuals seeking a transformative therapeutic experience.
