She/They

New York University Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development

Jo is currently receiving a Master of Arts degree in Mental Health Counseling and Wellness from New York University. Jo strives to provide a safer and affirming space for clients to explore the meaning behind their current thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, as well as the relationships and events that have affected them. In this space, Jo invites clients to talk at greater length, in every corner of their internal experiences, and helps clients to listen to themselves in the deeper territory. Collaboratively, Jo and clients will work to identify, confront, better understand, and finally see different parts of self that are both conscious and unconscious, so clients may gain more freedom and movement in their dance of life.

Jo’s approach is mainly influenced by psychoanalytic, psychodynamic, and relational theories. They are open to work with LGBTQ+ individuals and couples of any identities. Particularly, they have great passions for working with QTPOC, polyamory/ENM, artists, and people from different cultural backgrounds. Jo is bilingual in Mandarin and English, and self-identified as an international citizen, so they are very open, compassionate, and self-aware of multicultural issues.
