Chikaodi is currently working toward obtaining their Master of Education to become a Mental Health Counselor.  As an Advanced Clinical intern, Chikaodi utilizes an existential framework coupled with a trauma informed approach to help the client gain a better sense of their needs and their sense of self.  Thoughts, feelings, and behaviors and often connected to gain a deeper understanding of self during session.  Chikaodi emphasizes mindfulness and choice to encourage the client to find purpose and value in their lived experience to create a life that they deem meaningful.  Chikaodi utilizes an eclectic and adaptive person-centered approach which involves pulling from different theories to meet the client where they are at.  

The therapeutic relationship is of utmost importance, so Chikaodi works with the client to create a collaborative, judgment free space to work through various troubles.  Chikaodi is passionate about working with the QTBIPOC community regarding anxiety, depression, suicide, gender identity, and sexual issues.  Chikaodi has worked in the field of mental health for over six years and has also freelanced as a model and makeup artist in the meantime, so Chikaodi has knowledge regarding the pressure of the media and entertainment industry.  Chikaodi is also a well-versed artist that is comfortable utilizing art in session if that would be beneficial for the therapeutic process.
