Beatriz received her B.A. in Psychology at Macaulay Honors College, CUNY, and her M.Ed. and M.A. in Mental Health Counseling at Teachers College, Columbia University.

Beatriz approaches therapy through a feminist, trauma-informed, harm reduction and multiculturally competent lens.  She draws from narrative therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, gestalt and person-centered theoretical frameworks.

She sees each client as their own whole individual with strengths. She aims to help clients establish goals and will work collaboratively to help you gain clarity and confidence.

Beatriz provides compassion, warmth and a non-judgmental environment to achieve goals and self-healing. She individualizes treatment to the unique needs of each client. Beatriz shows up in sessions with radical kindness. She understands building a strong, honest relationship and rapport is key to the work. She will help you explore yourself and your story, while providing tools to assist along your journey. As an affirming, inclusive therapist, she provides empathy with attention to the intersections of identities within every person.

Her interests and clinical focuses include self-care, minority body image, Latinx mental health, psychosis in youth, and is passionate about self-acceptance/love. Beatriz created and uses the motto "Write your own narrative" in her annual bootcamp as a reminder that we each have our own story and control over it.
